Best Bar None is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme supported by the Home Office and delivered locally by Urban Spark Group and Huddersfield BID. The scheme sets a clear benchmark for safety, staff training, management standards, and customer care within the night-time economy. Venues undergo a detailed assessment process covering areas such as prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, safeguarding, and responsible alcohol retailing. Accreditation is not simply a badge. It demonstrates a venue’s commitment to creating a safe and positive environment for everyone who enjoys Huddersfield after dark.
In Huddersfield, Best Bar None plays a key role in strengthening relationships between venues, partners and the wider community. The accreditation helps reassure customers that participating venues meet high operational standards and are actively working to promote a safer, more vibrant town centre.
We are also proud to confirm that the University of Huddersfield Student Union will be working alongside us to support the scheme. As part of this collaboration, the Student Union will recognise and prioritise Best Bar None accredited venues when hosting and promoting social late evening events linked to student activity. This partnership highlights the importance of accreditation and reinforces the shared commitment to ensuring students and the wider community enjoy Huddersfield responsibly and safely.
