Mysterious Creature to take over Huddersfield
2020 has been mysterious to say least and it’s about to get even more curious as ‘TentaHudds’ takes over a Huddersfield Town Centre building.
From Monday 26th October Huddersfield BID are celebrating Halloween with a take-over of a building through temporary public realm. 5 mystifying tentacles will appear in the skyline above Market Place adding a spooky but exciting effect for people to visit and enjoy within their current support bubble. In partnership with Huddersfield’s new dedicated destination website – Hello Huddersfield – and the Packhorse Shopping Centre this regional first will be sure to impress. LED lighting will add a further wow factor during evenings with the tentacles in place until Monday 2nd November.
The fun and surprises don’t stop here – there will also be a week long free competition where, through posting a selfie with TentaHudds on a Hello Huddersfield social media platform, you can win numerous £100 vouchers to spend within the HD1 area. There will also be, on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st, promotional staff throughout the town dressed in themed fancy dress handing out free COVID safe goodies and adding to the Halloween spirit.
BID Manager Matthew Chapman commented “It has certainly been a challenging year for all, especially businesses on the high street. TentaHudds is a never before seen COVID safe attraction to encourage people into Huddersfield Town Centre in a socially distanced way. Businesses in Huddersfield are open and need our support and I would encourage people to come into town, within your household/support bubble, enjoy TentaHudds and bolster the local economy”.
