Have you heard about Huddersfield’s jam-packed event lineup this summer? There’s something for everyone to enjoy within the town centre: from lego-themed trails to franchise fanfare and code-cracking!
We thought we’d give you a breakdown of the spectacular range of events that Huddersfield BID and Hello Huddersfield will soon be hosting in the weeks to come…
The Lego Trail:
Keep the little ones entertained or fuel your own childhood nostalgia by taking part in this town-centre based challenge to WIN a huge lego set!
This exciting initiative is encouraging local businesses to put their lego-building skills to the test- with sculptures to be displayed around the whole of Huddersfield centre! The trail will require participants to spot every lego sculpture and scan its unique code through the LoyalFree app. Those that manage to spot every lego location will be in with a chance of winning their very own lego kit!
You’ll find all sorts of interesting creations on your hunt- from meticulous builds of well-known local landmarks to celebrations of popular film-franchises.
It’s the ideal family day out! Need a way to keep the kids entertained whilst you get the shopping done? We guarantee that our Huddersfield lego trail will do just the trick!

Get Your Geek On:
Comic book, anime, film franchise and cosplay fans are in for a treat this July. Huddersfield BID are bringing the first ever outdoor comic con event to town.
Expect to see weird, wacky and wonderful celebrations of all things ‘geeky’ on every corner of Huddersfield town centre. Get ready to fully immerse yourself in the (many) universes from popular films, comics, tv shows and more across the weekend. Ever wanted to check out a BatMobile replica in person? Meet cosplayers so convincing that you’ll think they’re the real thing? Test your skills at jedi training with and earn your ‘jedi’ title? Join us across the weekend to truly ‘unleash your inner geek’ with non-stop activities to look forward to:
- Jedi training
- Cosplayer meeting opportunities
- Outdoor cinema
- Themed merchandise, gifts and goods
- Marvel character trail
- Cars from favourite franchise films
- ‘An Audience with Andrew Lawden’

Crack The Code:
Have you got what it takes to crack the code and bag yourself £50 in cash?! If you fancy some code-busting, family-friendly fun this summer, don’t miss out! You’ll get the opportunity to open our very own ‘Crack the Code’ machine which holds the prize money for lucky winners to get their hands on.
Huddersfield BID are giving away £150 in total (3 x £50’s). Win yourself a wad of cash simply by following the steps below. Here’s what participants need to do:
- Spend at least £5 in a local store to be given your very own 4 digit code on a paper slip.
- Take your code to our ‘crack the code’ machine at the Hello Huddersfield! Office (located on Market Avenue) with a receipt of your local purchase.
- If the code is correct… the £50 is yours!

Winning Wednesdays:
…A competition with a carnival-style twist!
During the school holidays, you’ll be given the chance to win a fantastic prize if you spend £5 in a BID-zone store and manage to WIN on one of our stall-style games.
If you choose to take part, you’ll be able to try your luck on a variety of exciting activities such as hook a duck, ring-toss and coconut shy.
We want families to enjoy a real summer-holiday style experience. If you’re looking to plan a fun-filled day out from under the sun from a local destination, be sure to take part!
