Greenhead Park is one of Huddersfield’s largest parks. Opened in 1884, it remains a popular spot with locals and its events attract people from miles around.
Only half a mile from the town centre, the park provides a haven of green space to relax in. The park boasts sports courts, an adventure playground, a play tower, climbing wall and a paddling pool during the summer months. A miniature railway operates from March to October running along a third of a mile track, starting and finishing at the station behind the refreshment rooms building.
Refreshments can be found at Café in the Park or ‘The Park’ with a choice of outdoor and indoor seating. Or there are picnic tables for you to bring your own lunch and enjoy the peace.
The park hosts a range of activities from a weekly park run, Nordic walking group, exercise classes for new mums and a drama class for pre-school children.
