Digley Reservoir

Located two miles outside the picturesque town of Holmfirth, Digley Reservoir is a haven for walkers and those looking to escape into nature. The trails surrounding the reservoir are perfect for a peaceful stroll through the countryside. Two main routes cater for all ages and abilities in some of the most stunning scenery in the district. Choose from an easy hour-long circular stroll around the reservoir, or a longer five mile walk affording good views of the Peak District hills in the distance. With picnic areas and benches at different locations around the lake, take your time and relax in some of the most glorious scenery in West Yorkshire. Beautiful at any time of year, visit the reservoir in late summer and much of the area is covered with a colourful carpet of purple heather.
