Translating as “Set it on fire”, Botafogo shares its name with a beachfront neighbourhood (bairro) in Rio de Janeiro, located within Guanabara Bay. Sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean and the famous Sugarloaf Mountain, it’s home to the world famous football team, Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas.
