Holmfirth brand campaign “Make it Your Holmfirth” celebrates its uniqueness – whether your visiting, working or living here in this great Yorkshire town

New place branding campaign, supported by Kirklees Council and Holme Valley Parish Council, shows all that’s on offer in this small town that packs a big punch with countryside, culinary delights and history

Holmfirth has a lot to offer and Kirklees Council and Holme Valley Parish Council have invested in a marketing campaign to encourage people living, working or visiting Holmfirth to explore and appreciate the town. The new branding depicts the town’s breathtaking countryside, independent shops, picturesque buildings and abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants. It highlights that no matter who you are you can make the town “Your Holmfirth”. The campaign hopes to attract more people to the town to live, work or visit.

The “Make it Your Holmfirth” campaign, designed by Holmfirth based agency Redbak, with the support of the local Holmfirth Business Together Group (HBT), considered all elements of what this unique, buzzing and vibrant town has to offer. The design uses images to depict the various aspects of “Your Holmfirth” which includes references to walking, cycling, music, festivals, mills, scenery, shops, buildings, Bamforth postcards and film industry, and its claim to fame, Last of the Summer Wine. The campaign will be seen around the town and on routes into the town in the form of lamppost flags, window stickers, posters, banners, bunting and bollard covers, and will be supported by a wide reaching social media campaign.

Newly elected Colne Valley Constituency MP, Paul Davies said, “Holmfirth is a wonderful town and being a resident here I am happy to see the new branding which captures the essence and spirit of Holmfirth. It conveys the fantastic energy and vibrancy of the town and the breadth of both its hospitality and retail offer. The design really does communicate that there is something for everyone in Holmfirth. I’m sure the campaign will help build the town’s profile, improve footfall and help local businesses.”

Matt Gledhill, from Redbak agency, said,”’Place Branding’, applying a brand and marketing techniques to a specific location, can bring a whole range of benefits to an area. These include economic growth, increased tourism, community pride and an enhanced reputation.

“It’s about shaping perceptions to foster growth, pride and sustainability for our brilliant town. We hope that local businesses, service providers and other stakeholders, will adopt the campaign and branding. We’re working with Holmfirth Forward Community Market at the moment to apply the brand, so watch this space!”

Margaret Dale, from Holme Valley Vision said, “Holmfirth is a unique and special place. It’s many things to many people. Its essence is that it is a great place whether you’re visiting, living in the town or you work here there is something on offer for everyone, from independent shops, brilliant bars and a great music scene, to fabulous festivals, outstanding restaurants, cool cafes and a supportive and inclusive community all set amongst beautiful breathtaking scenery. What’s not to love!
We wanted to try and capture this and convey it in a way that appeals to everyone and thanks to Redbak and the campaign we have done just that.”

The campaign will officially launch on Wednesday 31st July.
